We assisted Taqa, a Lebanese leader in healthy snacks, in undertaking a thorough Carbon Footprint Analysis to better understand the CO2 and other GHG emissions associated with its raw materials, its production, and its operations. The aim was to quantify their carbon impact, but also identify the measures that could be taken with time to decrease these emissions, through short-term and long-term improvements.
Taqa was very proud to be one of the first companies in the Middle East to have conducted a 9-month study to determine their carbon footprint: from the transportation of their employees, to the impact of distributing their products, as well as the journey that some of their ingredients have to make (some of their dark chocolate comes all the way from Guatemala, no choice if you want high quality cacao!).
With real numbers in hand, Taqa knew exactly how much they needed to offset their GHG emissions, which they are now regularly doing through yearly local tree planting events, involving all their team.
Chapeau Bas to a determined young team of eco-warriors!
