The Green Impact MED Project – Positive Investments for Positive Impacts (GIMED) was an EU-funded project under ENI-CBC Med aiming at supporting green entrepreneurs to better access finance & markets in the Mediterranean.

Brief

Main Coordinator, Facilitator, and Trainer of the early Ideation and Incubation phases of GIMED in Lebanon, locally led by Berytech: We delivered a full capacity building training program in 2020, composed of series of interactive customized workshops, following the framework developed by the SwitchMed Support Programme, to train 20 environmentally-oriented ventures to develop their green business model, market validation, marketing strategy, and basic financial requirements to launch their minimum viable product, presenting the outcome in the form of an entrepreneur pitch deck.

Achievements

  • - Our role involved designing the initial programme, its sequence of sessions, selecting qualified co-trainers, as well as delivering a full module on the circular economy and individually coaching selected entrepreneurs in adopting circular business models, circular strategies, and eco-design principles.

  • - In our role as trainers in the GIMED program implemented by Berytech in Lebanon, we used the Switchers online platform to coach eco-entrepreneurs, including a deep dive into one of our favorite topics, EcoDesign!

  • - Through the support of the Berytech team and ours, twenty green innovators and researchers have been given the chance to turn their solutions into successful green start-ups in the context of GIMED.
